Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday greetings, I appreciate them all ![]()
I have rattled on about this birthday for long enough so this will be the last time that I will mention the big six O 'cos as from next year I will be taking a leaf out of Marikasunseeker's book and begin counting downwards, hence next year I will be 59
The girls did me proud, they didn't tell me where I was going or what I would be doing although I did have a few clues to hazard a guess and presume it was going to be a girlie day out.
We left the house at about 8am and travelled the road to Harrogate
We arrived in time for the first session of the day at
Harrogate's Turkish baths
We went into the steam room, into the cold pool then into the hot rooms before entering the rest room. I was resting nicely when I was called upon to to go to a treatment room where I received a full body massage.
Feeling clean and revigorated we went to Betty's cafe for coffee and cake.
After a suitable time we mooched around the shops and admired the victorian architecture of Harrogate.
It was by now late afternoon and I was escorted back to the car. I thought I would be returning home but no instead Bella drove to Bradford.
We were getting hungry so the girls who had meticulously planned the itinerary directed me to Omar Khan's Indian restaurant
We dined well and reluctantly made our way outside to the cold evening air but we didn't have far to go as I was escorted down the hill and into the warm environs of The Alhambra Theatre
to see a modern production of 'A midsummer night's dream' by
the Northern ballet theatre
It was a magical end to a wonderful day, just me and my girls..t'old man participated too as he paid!
and he kept the home fires burning 'til we got home ![]()
