T'old man has just about finished glossing and emulsioning the whole of the house (Ok, it's not a huge house) and he has had a lot of help from me so much so that my fair hands are sore with all the cleaning and painting i've been doing
I mention that he has just finished decorating as he painted the kitchen ceiling today, but my work is not done as I have to wash the tiled walls down and clean the kitchen cupboards tomorrow.
I was absent without leave again today as Wednesday is my classes day...U3A spanish language class in the morning and dancing in the afternoon.
I plod on with the U3A class even though I don't learn much seeing as the teacher we once had has decamped to Arcos de la Frontera and left me with a set of old codgers (love 'em really even though they can be cantankerous old so and sos).
Now in the dance class we have a lady who's almost 80 and she's as different again. She's having her 80th birthday party for about 70 of her relatives on Friday and has asked some of us from the dance class to go along, Cathy (teacher) will be doing a little cabaret spot for the guests then afterwards we will all have a little shimmy the birthday girl included.
Meanwhile I have phoned the consultant's secretary about T'old man's key hole surgery explaining that he had his pre-op about a month ago and he's not heard anything since...she confirmed that a pre-op could last up to six months (I couldn't believe it
) then when I mentioned that three months were up soon and that government guidelines state that three months should be the maximum waiting time for an initial op she reassured me that as soon as she could she would be contacting him as he is down for a November slot...We shall see ![]()
What else is there?
Oh yes, the next door neighbours' extension is coming along, the roofers are putting the last of the tiles on the roof and the windows are going in so that is the bulk of the external shell complete.
The wife has only five weeks to go now before giving birth but somehow I can't see all the interior work being completed before then....I bet her nesting instincts have gone hay-wire ![]()
Our satellite dish is getting moved tomorrow seeing as the extension has blocked all signals to it completely
