The perrenials aren't too bad but the bedding plants simply haven't thrived (except for the marigolds)

Nice close up of the buzzy bee.

It was on there for ages.
I even took a mini-video of it and it looked like very busy indeed!

Nice bee picture on a very colourful flower :-)

They are very bright petals compounded by the fact that there was strong sunshine (at last).
The orange marigolds too are equally as bright

It's still looking good, despite the bedding plants sulking. All my bedding plants also seem a bit limp and dull due to under-watering. How ironic is that?
Marigolds are lovely for adding lots of bright colour, as are Heleniums, Crocosmias and Dahlias which are peaking now. I love the hot colours you get in August and autumn.-

Mmmm..perhaps I should plant some dahlias for next year.
My dad always grew dahlias when I was little...I remember there were a lot of earwigs though...
Autumn colours never fail to impress

All I seem to have in bloom are marigolds and Californian poppies. Another week or so and I'll have one solitary hollyhock and a couple of rudbeckias joining them. Like last year, it's been a terrible year for the garden.

What to do eh..Lee?
I didn't have any Californian poppies this year and I usually do

I really like the way the sun shines through the petals, giving them a shiny metallic appearance.

Yes, some garden years are good while others can be very disappointing. We have been rather lucky.
