wet or dry...you decide

Have you ever seen where a rainstorm ends?
On one side of the road it is absolutely wet through whereas on the other it is bone dry.

We spent yesterday at the house ÈL MOLINA´and had a glorious afternoon relaxing and sunbathing. I have had a very busy week since the kids came back from their holiday in Peniscola so it was a pleasant release.
At about eight o´clock the family congregated on the terrace for a chat and to have an ice cold drink of Horchata (a nutty milky drink) when an almighty thunderstorm descended. you wouldn´t think that this would warrant that much excitement but on the contrary everyone rushed inside and took their seats in the porch as if going to the cinema to watch the sky and listen to the pitter patter of rain on the glass roof.
In summertime, rain is a rarity in Castilla so it generates this upbeat response.

Now...back to where the rain ends!..

The daily maid arrived this morning and was surprised to hear about the thunder storm. She lives in the village about a mile away and swore they didn´t get a drop of rain there, nor fortunately in the town three miles further along...lucky eh!? as it was the last night of their fiesta and the closing fireworks display was spectacular I heard.

I´ve still got six days left here, so catch you later.

I have! I was standing on one side of the road in the pouring rain and the other side was bone dry. I'm not sure where it was now as it was a very long time ago but it was in this country.
I take it that you're enjoying yourself! Take care and have fun.

yes thanks, enjoying myself!
I have once walked down the road from my house and when I reached the bottom of the hill the road was dry and it had stopped raining..I mean it hadn´t been raining there!lol

Interestingly we seem to be on the edge of the local weather pattern. It quite often rains at the front of the house, while the back of the house is dry... then again that could have a lot to do with the gin! :))

Once when I was at University I was walking home after queuing all night for tickets to see Bruce Springsteen

Walking along the road there was a point when a bank of fog started. One side of the road was in bright sunshine the other dense fog!!

Glad to hear you're still having a good time

That was a long time ago  You sure it wasn´t an hallucination;)lol
Talking of music of a different kind, I went to a dinner party at a spaniards house on Saturday with 17 adults and 10 children. After the wonderful prolonged meal, six of the male guests who used to belong to their university troubadour group(Tunas) struck up a few tunes with their guitars. It was wonderful for me as I had seen the 'Tunas`only in a video about Salamanca. When I get home I will try to put my amateur video on my youtube site.
Fond regards

Hi, couldn´t manage a pic of that, but just had a thunderstorm and the road looked as if it could have been England this summer!!
Apparently they have so little rain that they don´t maintain their drains so well therefore the drains were blocked with leaves! lol

Some years ago I was driving along the M2 in Kent in the middle of June when the traffic was stopped by a road works hold up. As we sat there it started to snow very heavily, about an inch settled very quickly. The hold up then cleared and we drove off in bright sunshine, and after 100 yds, no more snow. It was a hot day, and I was in shirt sleeves. We threw snowballs at each other while we were held up. It was definitely snow and not hail.
