These are photos of Huddersfield university's final year students textile exhibits which I took on Friday when I went to see my daughter. They are on display 'til Thursday. The materials were designed and created by the students and I thought they displayed them wonderfully (me who hasn't an artistic bone in my body).
The dome tent on the left in the top photo is a spoof on Tracy Emin's tent and inside it is covered with hundreds of photos of students partying hard
(I guess it could be called "Everyone who I have ever partied with)

What is art. Is it a Rembrant or a Mona Lisa, or is it some paint splashed on the wall or a cow chopped in half and put on show in a glass block?
answers on a postcard please.

The photos don't show the cleverness of the students. They actually designed and created the materials themselves and were displayed to show the intricacies of the fabrics not necessarily just as an art work.(except for the dome tent of course).

That is really impressing! I am not really person to understand what 'ART' is but I am always suprised what they create!! I cannot think anything like that! I am very unfamiliar with textile arts but that looks very intersting. Japanese textile is always beautiful so have a look sometimes!!

I'm not very knowledgable about art either but I just love to look at pretty things. I love the embroidery on Japanese Kimonos and I remember years ago a friend of mine had a vintage silk kimono displayed on her wall.

Now you must know that I say things with tongue in cheek most of the time.
I do like lots of different art forms, although I must say I find it hard to appreciate paint which seems to have been splashed randomly. My favourite art is paintings that have been done so well that they look more real than a photograph ever could, like the 18th or 19th century version of 'high definition'!

That's understood David
and I agree totally with your view on some modern art.

BlueButterfly

Wow! this is the kind of art I like. Where it is? who is the artist? What is it about? The red one looks like blood splattered on the wall.
